JOWA MetriLink (Wireless)

The Wireless Resistance Transceiver, model WRT, is an ideal addition to any resistance-tape level sensor where power and signal wires do not exist. This product allows for level monitoring in places that were previously thought cost prohibitive due to the expense of running wire or adding a power source.

The model WRT is an integrated signal conditioner and RF transceiver with self-contained power operating in the 902 MHz to 928 MHz ISM license-free band.

JOWA Metritape

The Aquatape Level Gauge is a packaged system for monitoring level in water and water-based non corrosive materials. Applications include rivers, reservoirs, wells, waste water, potable water, sea water and municipal sludge. The Aquatape system consists of the unique resistance-tape sensor, a compact filter assembly, a sensor housing and a 4-20mA current transmitter. It is available in overall lengths of 3 to 50 feet (1 to 15 meters). The filter assembly protects the sensor from moisture and contaminates and provides pressure equalization. The PVC sensor housing mounts to a 1 1/2 inch male pipe thread.

Temperature monitoring can be added to Aquatape at a specified location along the sensor back. Detectors are 1000 ohm platinum. Aquatape is not suited for temperatures above 140°F (60°C), corrosive materials or pressurized applications.

The LA sensor is available in overall lengths of 1 to 36 meters (3 to 120 feet). It has a high resolution helix and gold-on-gold electric contacts for 5 mm (1/4”) turns resolution and long-term contact stability. The sensor jacket is multi-layer polypropylene, aluminum, polyester (Mylar) laminate with polypropylene as the outermost wetted material. The LA-HN and LA-HP level sensors are used to gauge petroleum products and many chemicals with temperatures up to 107°C (225°F). The LA-HN and LA-HP level sensors are available in overall lengths of 1 to 36 meters (3 to 120 feet). Both models have a high resolution helix and gold-on-gold electric contacts for 5 mm (1/4”) turns resolution and long-term contact stability. The LA-HN is enclosed in a Nylon 12 channel for physical protection (LA-HP is enclosed in a polypropylene channel). Optional temperature detection can be included in either model with up to three (3) RTD detectors mounted within the sensor envelope at specified locations. JOWA Oily Water Treatment Systems

Jowa Oily Water Separator is available in five different capacities; 0.5 m3/h, 1.0 m3/h, 2.5 m3/h, 5.0 m3/h and 10.0 m3/h. The skid is optimised so that the footprint of the 3SEP OWS is as small as possible. The 1m3/h model pictured has a footprint of only 950 x 760mm. The system is designed for a continuous flow with automatic operation. JOWA 3sep Oily Water Separator does not require any chemicals. The first stage removes the free oil by gravity with the help of coalescence plates. An adjustable oil sensor controls the valve for automatic oil release to the sludge tank or any other dedicated tank. The adjustable oil sensor makes it possible to minimise the amount of treatable water released to the sludge tank.

There are two alarms out signals which are triggered by the ppm oil content of the separators effluent. Adjustable between 0-15 ppm. Auto flush occurs automatically, a cleaning function designed to keep the sensor as clean as possible. The log is controlled by a signal from the separator and is saved on a removable SD card.

The unit separates up to 80% of the water in the emulsion. The treated water is then fed to an MEPC 107(49) approved bilge water separator. The residue is pumped to the concentrated sludge tank. The system is operating automatically, in a step-by-step program (PLC controlled). The working principle is flocculation. When the system starts it firstly makes an oil release in the gravity tank of the 3SEP, then it starts to fill up the settling tank with emulsified water, the emulsion breaking chemical is added, and mixed with the emulsified water and at the same time pH-adjusted. To end the first step, the oil from last batch is discharged to the sludge tank. During settling time the chemicals will break the emulsion, and create 3 different layers. (settling time is adjustable).

JOWA - Dosing & Chlorination Unit

The unit consists of a dosing pump, a control cabinet, an injection valve and a container for the chemical. The container is equipped with a low-level alarm which stops the pump in case chemical runs out, a suction valve and a manual agitator. All components are mounted on a stable steel frame for easy installation. The most common application is that the dosing unit is being used to chlorinate fresh water, chlorinate evaporated water or bunker water, on its way to fresh water holding tank, and to re-chlorinate water before it is distributed. The prechlorination systems are normally controlled by flow meters in bunker water flow line.

The system supplies the wheelhouse with pressurised tempered water including cleaning detergent and rinsing fluid. The system is specially designed to suit the number of spraying nozzles, which is dependent on the size and design of the wheelhouses and yards, or owners request. The difference is that more nozzles per section need a higher pump capacity. After use the water is removed from the pipe system by adding pressurised air. Utilises natural biological processes and intelligent design to ensure the strict discharge limits are met without the need for filters. PES protects the exposed propeller and the shaft bearings against spark erosion damages. It serves as a short circuit between the rotating propeller shaft and the ship’s hull. High efficiency silver tracked slip rings and proven contact brushes ensure a short circuit between the rotating propeller shaft and the ship”s hull.

Several tests in the past indicate that only this material combination ensures a repeatable low conductivity in balance with longer life time. Constant contamination of silver surface increases the risk of spark erosion due to bad contact. Usually the system must be checked every week for cleanliness.

The Homogenizer has been specifically designed to solve the uniformity problems ship owners and operators face when running on heavy fuel oil. There is no better chemical-free approach for best treatment of heavy fuel oil, water-in-fuel-emulsion and sludge.

Operational Principle

The Homogenizer operates on the principles of mechanical shearing and ultrasonic forces. It utilises a special conical shaped milling gear, to generate high hydrodynamic power consisting of shearing, friction and acceleration forces with pressure waves of high frequency. The high molecular asphaltenes, the existing cat-fines, remaining water etc. are homogenized into heavy fuel oil with maximum particle size of 5 µm.
